How to find a private fund's administrator or auditor

Find the administrator or auditor reported for a hedge fund or other private fund: read Q23 and Q26 in its adviser's Form ADV and note the filing date.

The method in brief

  1. Identify the fund by its legal name and find the adviser that reports it on Form ADV.
  2. Open that adviser's most recent Form ADV and go to the fund's Schedule D, Section 7.B.(1).
  3. In Part B of that section, read Q23 for the auditor and Q26 for the administrator.
  4. Record the fund, role, provider and filing date, and read any blank or negative answer exactly as the question is worded.
